Welcome to my teacher work sample! On this site you will find a collection of teaching experiences from four different schools throughout my college career.
The dates and schools at which I worked are as follows:
Dunn Elementary School – Oct. 2012 – Dec. 2012
Cache La Poudre Middle School – Aug. 2012 – Oct. 2012
Rocky Mountain High School – Jan. 2012 – May 2012
Lab School for Creative Learning – Aug. 2011 – Dec. 2011
While student teaching at Cache La Poudre Middle School I developed a unit of instruction entitled Self Discoveries. Every lesson revolved around students making discoveries about themselves as individuals. This is because I believe the best way to grow as an individual is to first take a good look at who you really are. Within that work sample you will find six sections. A setting and context section which describes the school environment and the students attending it. A unit topic and rational section that defines the sequence of the lessons taught within Self Discoveries unit. A section on standards, goals, and objectives that explains how all the goals and objectives of the unit were aligned to the Colorado State standards for the visual arts. An instruction and management plan section that describes methods for integrating literacy, numeracy, and technology into the classroom as well as methods for classroom management. An assessment data and analysis section that draws conclusions from pre and post- assessment data gathered. And finally, a reflective section that describes insights to teaching I have discovered along the way. Learning the art of becoming an educator has been a wonderful experience; I hope you enjoy taking a look at all that I have learned.

Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.
