Artist Statement
When I first started seriously creating art I viewed it as a way to reach the world outside. Now I am more concerned with creating art as a means to explore the world inside myself. At first art was a way to achieve fame and fortune. Now art is a way to achieve self discovery- and I am richer for it. I use the process of creating art as a way to slow down; a way to connect to the world around me.
Each time a work of art is created the world becomes little bit brighter. I love the idea of starting with an undeveloped roll of film, a lump of clay, or a blank canvas and in a few hours turning it into something better - a work of art. The thought of adding one more positive thing to the world pleases me.
