Third Grade
A- He improved his score by 21.9% He missed the line question on the pre-test but answered correctly on the post test. His Matching cultures question results decreased on his post test.
A- She did not take the post test which is unfortunate because I am sure she would have shown growth. She is a talented artist but she missed the questions about community and the relative sizes of her city, state, and country. This leads me to believe that she is a strong visual learner but needs more attention with spatial learning.
A- He consitently recieves above average marks. At the beginning of the semester Tamara told me that he had been held back one grade. I think the extra time that has been given to him has been very benefitial because he seems to be comfortable with his place in this class. HIs matching cultures results decreased in his post assessment. His scores increased 18.8%.
C- In both the pre test and post test this student missed the community question. She also did not feel that "Artists us art to express themselves"(question 9). In the post test she missed the line question however in the pre test she answered correctly. She is one of three students who had lower post test scores.
C- He did not take the post assessment. He shows high intellect but does not seem to put much effort into his work. He missed a question on primary colors.
D- This student also did not take the post test, this is unfortunate because she showed steady growth throughout the semester.
I- He answered the matching cultures question perfectly but missed almost all the rest. He did not take the post test but I think he would have shown large gains.
J- He achieved the highest percent gained with a 50% increase in scores. The only question he missed on both assessments was the line question.
L- Is a self-proclaimed artist. She is the only student to achieve a perfect score.
Second Grade
A- He missed the community question (#1). He also missed half of the culture matching question (#5). He did not take the post assessment.
A- He is a very hyperactive student. We did not gather results from the pre assessment for this student. I believe this is because he still struggles to read. During the post assessment I made sure to sit down and read the questions to him so he understood and could give more accurate results.
A- She missed the line question (#3) on both assesments. Here matching cultures results decreased on the post test which led to a slight decrease in her post assessment score.
A- He is one of three students who had a lower post assessment score. His matching cultures results greatly improved in his post assesment.
D- Unfortunately he did not take the post test. He was very active and engaged in all of the projects and I feel he would have shown growth.
E- He doubled his assessment score. He improved with the line, community, and primary color questions.
E- She also showed great gains. She had a 28.2% increase in scores. On both assessments she missed the question on different line qualities (#3)
K- She showed great gains. She had a 40.6% increase in scores. The only question she missed on the post assessment was on types of line (#3).
O- She did very well on both assessments, only missing half of one point both times. But both times she missed the culture matching question (#5). this makes me think that she started at an advanced level but we did not spend enough time on various cultures. I think this because the only area she struggled with in the beggining she also struggled with in the end.
